Chim Chim Sauce
A source-preserved soy-and-gochujang sauce recipe with brown sugar, garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, green onions, and sesame seeds.
Ingredients
- Soy sauce 100 g
- Brown sugar 50 g
- Garlic 20 g
- Sesame oil 30 g
- Rice vinegar 20 g
- Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) 40 g
- Fresh ginger 15 g
- Green onions 30 g
- Sesame seeds 10 g
Method
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar until fully integrated.
- To the liquid mixture, stir in the brown sugar and gochujang (Korean red chili paste) until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- Mix in the minced garlic and grated ginger into the sauce, blending thoroughly to ensure these flavors infuse the sauce.
- Add the chopped green onions and sprinkle in the sesame seeds, giving the sauce a final stir to evenly distribute all the ingredients.
- Allow the sauce to sit for at least 30 minutes before serving. This resting period lets the flavors meld together more cohesively.
