  • In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients listed. Stir well to ensure that the sugar and molasses are completely dissolved in the liquid.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low. Allow the sauce to gently simmer, uncovered, for about 30 minutes to 1 hour or until the mixture has reduced by about half and has thickened slightly.
  • Once the sauce has achieved a rich flavor and consistency, remove it from the heat. Strain it through a fine mesh sieve to remove the solids, pressing on them to extract as much liquid as possible.
  • Allow the sauce to cool completely. Then, transfer it to a glass bottle or jar and seal tightly.
